Lots of parents ask what a first session looks like, so here it is, minute by minute.
Before
Sign up on the Sign Up page with the days and time that work for you and the park you’d like — Hazelwood, Patricia Allen or Bowman, all in Springboro. You’ll get a confirmation e-mail with calendar links, and we’ll confirm the time and the field.
Bring a ball, shin guards, cleats or turf shoes and a full water bottle. I bring cones, a spare ball and a pop-up goal.
The Hour
- 10 minutes — warm up and touches. Quick feet, ball mastery, a game to get moving and get comfortable.
- 20 minutes — skill of the day. On the first lesson I watch what your player can already do and pick one thing that will help most.
- 20 minutes — game-speed reps. The same skill with a defender (me) and a goal.
- 10 minutes — finisher. A shooting challenge or one-v-one. Every lesson ends with a goal.
After
I’ll tell you what we worked on and give your player one or two things to practice at home — usually from my back-yard drills. A parent or guardian stays at the field the whole time.
That’s it. Lots of touches, lots of fun, and real progress every week.
